JCB POWER TOOLS UK PROFESSIONAL RANGE LIMITED WARRANTY
Introduction & Scope
This Limited Warranty (the "Warranty") is provided by Genpower Ltd (JCB Tools), (“Genpower”, “Genpower Ltd”, "JCB Tools," "we," "us") for its professional range of power tools, batteries, and chargers (each, a "Product"). This Warranty applies only to new JCB Power Tools Products purchased in the United Kingdom from an authorised JCB Tools reseller or us directly.
This Warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including but not limited to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Your statutory rights remain fully enforceable regardless of this Warranty.
Warranty Periods
- JCB Professional Power Tools: All JCB Power Tools are covered by a 3-year limited warranty from the date of original purchase.
- JCB Professional Batteries & Chargers: All JCB Batteries and Chargers are covered by a 2-year limited warranty from the date of original purchase.
- Any product used for Hire will only be covered by a 90 day warranty period
Warranty Registration
Your warranty automatically starts from the date of purchase. Online registration is not required to activate your standard warranty. JCB Tools reserves the right to introduce product registration for any potential future extended warranty offers beyond the current 3-year tool or 2-year battery/charger terms.
What the Warranty Covers
This Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that are present at the time of purchase or develop within the specified warranty period under normal use conditions. Normal use implies adherence to the Product's instruction manual and intended applications.
If a Product is found to have a defect covered by this Warranty, JCB Tools will, at its sole discretion, either repair the faulty Product free of charge or replace it with a new or reconditioned Product of equivalent or superior specification. The replacement Product may be a later model.
What the Warranty Does NOT Cover (Exclusions)
This Warranty does not cover any issues or failures resulting from the below.
(This list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to consider additional components not listed below when assessing a warranty claim)
- Fair Wear and Tear: Damage caused by normal use over time. This includes, but is not limited to, components subject to natural wear such as carbon brushes, bearings, chucks, SDS drill bit attachments, power cords, auxiliary handles, sanding plates, dust bags, filters, seals, O-rings, and other service items or consumables.
- Accidental Damage: Damage resulting from unforeseen external events, including but not limited to dropping the tool, impacts, crushing, or liquid damage.
- Misuse or Improper Operation:
- Use contrary to the instructions and warnings provided in the Product's instruction manual.
- Overloading the tool beyond its specified capacity or intended use.
- Connection to an improper power supply (e.g., incorrect amps, voltage, or frequency).
- Use of non-approved accessories, parts, or consumables not manufactured or recommended by JCB Tools.
- Use of non-genuine, third-party batteries or chargers not supplied by JCB Power Tools or an authorised dealer / re-seller.
- Improper Maintenance, Repairs or Servicing: Damage resulting from inadequate, incorrect, or neglected maintenance as outlined in the Product's instruction manual. Failures caused by previous repairs carried out by an unauthorised repair agent will void the product's warranty.
- Alterations or Modifications: Products that have been altered, modified, adapted, or partially/fully dismantled without prior written authorisation from JCB Tools.
- Defaced or Removed Identification: Products where original identification markings, such as the trademark, serial number, or date code, have been defaced, altered, or removed.
- External Influences: Damage caused by external factors such as water, chemicals, extreme physical shocks (beyond normal operational use), or the presence of foreign substances.
- Non-Compliant Items: Using accessories, batteries or any attachments (or similar) that are not compliant for use within the UK which leads to damage of the item
- Products Purchased Used or Second-Hand: This Warranty applies only to Products purchased new from an authorised JCB Tools reseller. It does not cover products acquired as used, second-hand, or rebuilt/reconditioned.
- Accessories: Items included or sold separately as accessories (e.g., drill bits, saw blades, sanding paper, cases not supplied as standard with the tool) are not covered by this Warranty and accessories are not liable to be used under a claim for warranty on a new tool.
- Slight Deviations: Minor deviations from the specified quality that do not materially affect the value or functionality of the Product.
Making a Warranty Claim
- Please contact us in the first instance to make a claim under warranty. Our contact details are shown below.
- One of our advisors will try to diagnose the problem and provide initial troubleshooting over the phone. If we are unable to resolve the issue we will request collection of the unit to return to us for further inspection and testing, or pass your repair to a local service agent at our discretion
- If the issue is deemed to be a warranty failure, we will cover the cost of collection and re-delivery to UK mainland locations. If you live within the Highlands or Islands we would expect a contribution towards to carriage costs
- If the issue is deemed not to be covered by warranty due to the exclusions noted or otherwise the transportation, handling, workshop costs, labour and parts costs would be passed onto you
- We will require a copy of your proof of purchase, along with the tool, battery or chargers serial number or batch code
- It is your responsibility to ensure the item is packaged safely and securely. We advise you to keep the original packaging for this purpose
- Upon completion of repairs we will arrange for the machine to be sent back to the customer at our cost. Highlands and islands may incur a surcharge to cover the extra transportation costs. This is to cover additional costs for transport to and from our repair centre. For the Channel Islands, it is usually more cost-effective for the customer to send the unit to the mainland and we will collect and return to the designated mainland address as normal.
- Where a tool uses fuel or lubricant, these must be fully drained prior to return. Failure to do this will invalidate your warranty and will cause collections or deliveries to be refused by our carriers
Remedies: Repair or Replacement
If a defect covered by this Warranty is confirmed by JCB Tools (Genpower Ltd), the Product will be repaired free of charge or replaced, at JCB Tools' discretion. Any Product or parts replaced under this Warranty will become the property of JCB Tools.
It is important to note that a repair or replacement performed under this Warranty does not extend or renew the original warranty period for the Product. The warranty period commences from the original purchase date of the Product. Furthermore, the consumer is not entitled to a loan tool or replacement Product for the duration of the repair process. The warranty is continual from the date of purchase and does not restart at any time or under any circumstances. Warranties are not transferable. The warranty is only valid when the machine receives all preventative maintenance and is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s documentation, using recommended oils where applicable.
Important Notes

- Governing Law: This Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
