Choosing the right cordless drill depends on torque, application and runtime. For screwdriving, furniture assembly and light drilling, an 18V drill in the 45-65Nm range is sufficient. For trade drilling into timber, metal and masonry, you need 75Nm minimum. For structural work — bolting into concrete block, drilling large core holes in masonry — step up to a 160Nm brushless combi drill or an SDS drill. Brushless motors run cooler, last longer without maintenance and typically deliver more runtime per charge than brushed equivalents. Always match the chuck size to the bit: 13mm keyless chucks accept all standard drill bits. For masonry, use a hammer drill setting with masonry bits. For concrete, an SDS drill is more effective. Battery capacity (Ah) determines runtime — 5.0Ah gives roughly double the runtime of a 2.0Ah pack.
