Engine Stands
JCB engine stands provide the stable rotating support needed for safe engine rebuild work. The range covers three models: 450kg (JCB-T24541), 560kg (JCB-T25671) and 680kg (JCB-T26801) capacity, all featuring heavy-duty swivel mounting heads for full 360-degree rotation of the engine during rebuild. This gives complete access to the head, sump, timing gear, flywheel and all sides of the block without repositioning. The four-point bolt mounting pattern accommodates different engine block configurations across passenger, commercial, agricultural and industrial applications. An engine crane or hoist is required to transfer the engine from the vehicle to the stand.
Frequently Asked Questions
What engine stand capacity do I need?
Choose a stand rated above the engine weight. Typical 4-cylinder car engines weigh 100-180kg. Diesel commercial engines weigh 250-500kg. Agricultural engines can exceed 600kg. JCB engine stands are available in 450kg, 560kg and 680kg capacities to cover the majority of applications.
Can the engine be fully rotated on a JCB engine stand?
Yes. All JCB engine stands feature a swivel mounting head allowing full 360-degree rotation of the engine, providing complete access to all sides of the block without removing the engine from the stand.
Do I need an engine crane to use an engine stand?
Yes. The engine must first be removed from the vehicle using an engine crane or hoist, then mounted on the stand. JCB folding hydraulic engine cranes in 1-tonne and 2-tonne capacities are designed for this task.
