L-Keys

JCB L-key sets cover hex and TORX fasteners across standard and professional size ranges. The 7-piece and 9-piece TORX sets include T10 through to T50H sizes in chrome vanadium steel, with hole variants for pin-lock fasteners. Flat hex sets cover 2mm to 19mm. Long-arm variants give increased leverage and access in confined spaces. Essential for machinery maintenance, furniture assembly, automotive work and any application with hex or TORX socket fasteners.

Buying Guide

L-keys (Allen keys or hex keys) are required for any fastener with a hexagonal socket drive. TORX keys are required for star-profile fasteners increasingly common in automotive, machinery and furniture applications. Always use the correct key type — using a hex key in a TORX socket rounds the drive profile and destroys the fastener. The hole variant (T10H-T40H) allows use on fasteners with a security pin in the centre — common on tamper-resistant fittings. Long-arm L-keys provide more torque and reach into deeper access points; standard-arm keys give more feel and control for precise torque applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between TORX and hex L-keys?

Hex (Allen) keys have a hexagonal cross-section for six-sided socket fasteners. TORX keys have a star-profile for TORX socket fasteners. They are not interchangeable — using the wrong key damages the fastener drive. Check the fastener head profile before selecting the key.

What does the 'H' mean in TORX H sizes like T10H?

The 'H' indicates a with-hole variant — the bit has a pin hole in the centre to engage TORX security fasteners which have a pin in the socket to prevent standard TORX key access. The JCB with-hole sets cover T10H to T40H and T50H.

What TORX sizes do I need for automotive work?

T20, T25 and T30 cover most interior trim and body panel fasteners. T40 and T45 are common on brake callipers and suspension. T50 and above are found on larger mechanical components and agricultural machinery.
