I bought it as a replacement for the previous model and have found it to be even better. It’s powerful enough for the toughest of jobs, and if it’s like the older version it will do me a number of years. Excellent, as you’d expect from JCB.

Very useful and powerful (and loud!) piece of kit, readily shreds and chips branches up to the quoted size without struggling. Prone to getting stringey conifer twigs stuck in the two main blade slots and wrapped around the central shaft. These are easily cleared although the release mechanism of the housing is somewhat fiddly, even when using a ratchet spanner, and the 'giraffe' adjustment mechanism could also be improved. But these are minor issues, otherwise very satisfied.
